Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills and staining) in one go without the need to switch out devices. They can also reduce space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively affordable price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are excellent too as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only issue is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will reveal precisely what the robot has completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
The docking station features a handy LCD screen that shows the time when maintenance is required, such as emptying debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able to differentiate between a vacuum only or mop clean, when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. Unlike last year's model it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its direction in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.
The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also has a side brush that is able to be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like table and chair legs. It can also get under furniture with low profile which makes it a great option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that allows the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or separately. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpet and mop only hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is easy to use and understand, and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features which make it a good choice for busy families. best automatic vacuum docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available however, it comes with numerous extra features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.
Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature as it stops the build-up of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a great method to keep your home cleaner for longer.
There's a wealth of settings available, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app lets you make these settings or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of features that other robots do not include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles instead of using the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, with a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's a little heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is well designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
